eastern tip of Saline County. It is about 12 miles south of Little Rock. Persons living in East End may have a Little Rock,
Hensley or Mabelvale mailing address. East End is part of the Sheridan School District, and Sheridan operates an intermediate
and elementary school in East End.
East End is one of the largest-populated unincorporated areas in
Arkansas. In the year 2000, the U.S. Census Bureau defined East End with a population of 5,623; of this amount 2,853 (50.7
percent) are male, and 2,770 (49.3 percent) are female. Rapid growth continues to take place in the community, with a population
estimated to be near 8,000 residents by 2008.
The median resident age is 34.1 years with a median household income of
$46,678. The median house value is $96,700. The area consists of mainly white non-Hispanics (95.2 percent). Other groups include
American Indian (1.5 percent), Hispanic (1.3 percent), and African American (0.9 percent).
